Ian D. Merritt is a professional photographer on the north side of Chicago specializing in unique lifestyle, automotive, and fine art photography. With more than ten years experience working in editorial and advertising, Ian brings a refined professional yet refreshing approach to his work. His attention to detail and his eye for capturing the right moment, either in the studio or working in the field, have attracted a diverse group of clients from restaurants to movie production houses to record labels. Whether he's hauling his gear around a wedding or he's perched on the edge of a safety barrier at the racetrack, Ian is relaxed and unflappable under pressure. He is just as comfortable around high powered executives and rock stars as he is stock clerks and car mechanics. And as his good friends know all too well, Ian rarely has nothing to talk about.

Ian's fine art has been exhibited at Images8 Gallery, at the annual Andersonville Arts Weekend, at Skidmore College, and in 2007 Ian was selected by a jury to be a part of the Around the Coyote Arts Festival in Wicker Park.
Ian lives in Lincoln Square with his wife, his son, and their dog Monte. In his free time, Ian takes antique electronics and turns them into lamps.
